A workshop on change, attachment and emotional freedom.


The closing of the Jordaan studio is affecting some people more deeply than they expected.

Not simply because a yoga studio is disappearing, but because change often reveals something we normally overlook: our attachments, expectations, memories and feelings of loss.

Often, we try to calm the situation with our minds and move on.

We tell ourselves things like:

  • "It is what it is."
  • "Everything will be fine."
  • "There are bigger problems in the world."

And yes, all of that may be true.

But when emotions are not given the space to be felt and processed, they get stuck in de body.

And when that builds up they can continue to influence our well-being long after the event itself has passed.

As trauma expert Bessel van der Kolk famously writes:

"The body keeps the score."

Practice while you can, because you will need it when you cannot.

Yoga teaches us to observe the movements of the mind. Yet sometimes we discover that this instruction alone is not enough to truly let something go.

  • We understand what is happening.
  • We may even accept it.
  • And still, something in us keeps holding on.

The closing of the Jordaan studio is, in the bigger picture, a relatively manageable life change. Precisely because of that, it offers a beautiful opportunity to practise.

Learning how to consciously release and move with change when the stakes are relatively small helps us stand our ground when life presents us with challenges that feel much bigger and beyond our control.

What to expect

In this workshop, we slow down and explore what this transition is bringing up for you.

In a small and supportive setting.

Through meditation, reflection, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and a simple closing ritual, we explore how to truly complete a chapter, allowing not only the mind but also the body and nervous system to move with what is happening.

Because that is often the missing piece.

When the body is given permission to let go as well, genuine space becomes available for what comes next.

This workshop also offers a low-threshold introduction to EFT, a body-based method that helps release stored emotional charge and tension and move beyond patterns, fear and old stories to freedom, clarity and inner wisdom.

For anyone who has ever noticed that change sometimes feels easier in theory than it does in reality.
